Danny Brooks
Blues Singer
Known for such blues recordings as Soulsville: Souled Out 'n Sanctified and Righteous, this popular Christian vocalist and songwriter was nominated for several Juno and Maple Blues awards.
His music career began in the 1970s, but was interrupted by his incarceration. Following a course of substance abuse treatment, he dedicated himself to his music and to the Christian faith.
In 2008, he published a motivational memoir titled Miracles for Breakfast: How Faith Helped Me Kick My Addictions.
He and his brother and sister grew up in Ontario, Canada.
He collaborated with Garth Hudson on a 2010 album titled Canadian Celebration of The Band.
