Daniel Pipes
Historian
An American historian and foreign policy expert, he founded the Middle East Forum and became the publisher of the Middle East Quarterly Journal. He also made frequent television appearances as a political commentator.
He received his PhD from Harvard University. Later, he served on the board of the U.S. Institute of Peace.
He worked as an adviser for Rudy Giuliani's 2008 presidential campaign.
His father, Richard Pipes, was an historian and Harvard University professor.
In a post on his political website, Pipes alleged that Barack Obama was a former Muslim.
