He was born in Regina, Saskatchewan and began snowboarding at age eleven.
He was a commentator for the slopestyle events for CBC Sports at the 2014 Winter Olympics.
His younger brother is fellow snowboarder
He is known to be friends with Norwegian snowbarder Torstein Horgmo.
