Nicknamed "The Grinder," this snooker player won the 1980 World Championship and the 1985 Goya Matchroom Trophy.
He began competing professionally in England during the early 1970s.
He was the first player to get a maximum break at the World Championship, which he did in 1983.
He has two sons, Jamie and Andrew.
He beat the great Alex Higgins to win the 1980 World Championship.
