Claude Bolling
Pianist
Jazz pianist, composer, arranger, and actor who was instrumental in the revival of traditional jazz in the 1960s.
He was a professional jazz piano player by the time he was 14 and was performing with the likes of Lionel Hampton, Roy Eldridge, and Kenny Clarke.
He would frequently collaborate with classical musicians, such as the Baroque-swing album Suite for Flute and Jazz Piano Trio with Jean-Pierre Rampal.
He was a child prodigy, and his family ensured that he cultivated his talents, enrolling him at the Nice Conservatory early on.
He was close friends with Oscar Peterson.
