Quarterback who joined the Penn State Nittany Lions in 2013, when he was voted Big Ten Freshman of the Year and captain of the ESPN Big Ten All-Freshmen Team. He broke numerous school freshman passing records, including passing yards in a season and completions in a season.
While he was playing at Fork Union Military Academy in Fork Union, Virginia, ESPN ranked him as the top pro-style quarterback recruit in the nation.
He was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week 5 times from 2013 to 2014.
His father Erick played football at Virginia and Susquehanna University. His mother Nicole played volleyball at Lehigh University. He has three younger brothers.
He took over for Matt McGloin as the quarterback at Penn State University.
