Chris Noonan
Director
Famous for his Academy Award-nominated directorial and screenwriting work on the 1995 Universal Pictures film Babe, this Australian filmmaker is also notable for directing the Beatrix Potter biopic Miss Potter (2006).
Before entering the Australian Film, Television, and Radio School in the early 1970s, he won a Sydney Film Festival prize for his debut short, "Could It Happen Here?"
His 1980 documentary, Stepping Out, received both Australian Film Institute and UNESCO awards.
Raised in Sydney, Australia, by a father who encouraged his talent as a filmmaker, Noonan later had a long-term relationship with producer Glenys Rowe.
Early in his career, Noonan assisted director Peter Weir on the comedic horror movie The Cars That Ate Paris.
