Long-time guitarist and frontman of the power pop band Fountains of Wayne, known for their hit song "Stacy's Mom." In 2016, he released his debut solo album Look Park.
He grew up listening to pop rock groups like The Beatles and The Zombies.
He suffered with a heavy drinking problem, causing him to only contribute three songs to Fountains of Wayne's fourth album, Traffic and Weather.
He was born in Britain; but grew up in Sellersville, Pennsylvania. He and his wife married in 1996; they have been based in Northampton, Massachusetts.
He has worked closely with "Catch My Disease" singer Ben Lee.
