She dedicated her 1999 single "Chanté's Got a Man" to her then-husband Kadeem Hardison. She was married to Kenny Lattimore from 2002 to 2011. She has a daughter named Sophia and a son named Kenny Jr.
She showed off the full range of her singing voice with the song "Wey U," which was featured on the soundtrack to the Angela Bassett film Waiting to Exhale.
