Professional pitcher that was signed as an international free agent by the Arizona Diamondbacks in May 2005. He has also played professionally in the Mexican, Dominican Republic and the Chinese Professional Baseball Leagues.
Prior to reaching the major league club, he began his professional pitching career in the United States playing for the Diamondbacks' single A affiliate, the Yakima Bears.
He made his official major league debut on May 3, 2010 pitching against the Houston Astros.
He is a native of Santo Domingo. He lives with his wife, Heidy, and their two sons.
He has played alongside Matt Harvey as a member of the Baltimore Orioles.
