Censu Tabone
Politician
Held office as the president of Malta from 1989 to 1994. As a member of the Nationalist Party, he had previously served on the Maltese Parliament for over two decades.
Motivated by his father's sudden, early death, he studied medicine at the University of Malta. He went on to study Ophthalmology at both the University of Oxford and the English Royal College of Surgeons.
He fought in the Royal Malta Artillery during World War II.
His marriage to Maria Wirth Tabone produced eight children. He died at age ninety-eight, shortly after celebrating seventy years of marriage.
He was a contemporary of fellow political leader Gerald R. Ford, who held office as the thirty-eighth president of United States.
