Journalist who began working for Channel 4 News as a correspondent in 2006, and as a presenter in 2011. She wrote her first book, Bloody Brilliant Women, in 2018.
She studied English at Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford, graduating with first-class honors.
She has worked for companies like Media Week, The Independent, the Financial Times and The Washington Post.
Her parents, David Newman and Julia Worsdall, were both chemistry teachers. She has one sister. She married John O'Connell in 2011. They have two daughters together.
She has counted colleague Alice Rawsthorn as one of her mentors.
