British cartoonist most remembered for his numerous contributions to the Daily Express. In 2000, he was voted Britain's Favorite Cartoonist of the 20th Century.
He worked for a variety of small film companies in the animation department before landing his big break in 1935, working on the film The Fox Hunt.
In 1959, he was named a member of the Order of the British Empire.
He was born and raised in the UK.
