Famous for performing his original song "Silent Storm" at the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest, this Norwegian vocalist finished the competition in eighth place.
After briefly serving in the military, he pursued a career as a carpenter.
He recorded his second single, "Holding On," in 2014.
Born in Bergen, Norway, and raised on the Norwegian island of Osterøy, he grew up with two younger siblings. His song "Silent Storm" was written by his cousin and fellow musician, Josefin Winther.
Austrian singer Conchita Wurst, the champion of the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest, defeated Espen and thirty-five other contestants.
