Former left-handed outfielder who had an incredibly productive run as a member of the Tampa Bay Devil Rays from 2002 until 2010. He played for the Boston Red Sox from 2011 to 2012, then joined the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2013 to 2016.
He was drafted in the second round of the 1999 draft but did not make his major league debut until 2002.
He led major league baseball in stolen bases four times and set a record with six in one game in 2009.
He got engaged to Evelyn Lozada in 2013, but they split up in 2017. He has a son named Carl from a previous relationship.
He and star pitcher Clayton Kershaw became teammates on the Dodgers.
