Civil Rights Leader
A lieutenant for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. during the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960's. He was also the author of Black Power and the American Myth, and founder of the C.T. Vivian Leadership Institute.
He was a member of the Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity.
He co-founded the Nashville Leadership Conference to organize the sit-ins and Nashville and took part in the Freedom Rides.
His mother and grandmother made sure he would be educated.
He worked closely with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
