Professional pitcher that was drafted by the San Diego Padres during the 14th round of the 2011 MLB Draft. He was acquired by the Oakland Athletics via trade on February 15, 2020.
He began his professional career playing for the Athletics' rookie affiliate team the AZL Athletics.
He made his major league debut pitching against the Tampa Bay Rays on May 11, 2013 as a member of the Padres.
He grew up in Tyler, Texas. His younger brother, Blake, was drafted by the Los Angeles Angels in 2016.
Growing up, he was close friends with Johnny Manziel.
