Entrepreneur who gained fame as a co-founder of Airbnb in August of 2008. He led the company as its CEO, taking Airbnb public in 2020. At the end of 2020, his net worth was over $10 billion.
He had a passion and interest in art, and received a degree in 2004 from the Rhode Island School of Design.
During the Obama administration, he was named Ambassador of Global Entrepreneurship. He was often the public spokesperson for Airbnb, via interviews at conferences such as the Code conference and on television networks including CNBC.
His parents both had careers in social work. He has a younger sister.
He launched concerts on the Airbnb platform, allowing performances in front of small audiences. He Tweeted about a John Legend concert in this format in 2018.
