Environmental scientist who used to work for AT&T as an telecommunications regulatory attorney. He has also published nearly a dozen books on ecology.
He attended Yale University and the University of Virginia.
He worked as an attorney for the Civil Aeronautics Board and the Federal Communications Commission.
He was born in Highland Park, IL and has two brothers.
He is a contemporary of fellow environmental scientist Lester Brown.
