NHL Hall of Fame defenseman who spent the bulk of his career with the New York Rangers and Boston Bruins after being drafted 2nd overall by the Rangers in 1966.
He signed with the Rangers for $200,000, making him the highest paid NHL player at the time.
He spent his last two NHL seasons with the Detroit Red Wings before retiring in 1985.
He grew up around Toronto, in Ontario, Canada.
He was a New York crowd favorite, but he played in the shadow of the Boston Bruins great, Bobby Orr.
