Public address announcer, most notably for MLB's New York Yankees from 1951–2007 and the NFL's New York Giants from 1956–2006.
He graduated from Saint John's Preparatory School in 1928.
He attended St. John's University and Columbia University.
He had two sons and two daughters.
Hall of Fame right field Reggie Jackson nicknamed Sheppard the "Voice of God."
