Bill Ayers

Leader of the Weather Underground political protest movement who was theirly called a terrorist by conservatives in 2008. He was a longtime professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
He was in the Bay-Area movement Students for a Democratic Society (SDS).
He participated in the bombings of New York City Police Department headquarters in 1970, the United States Capitol building in 1971, and the Pentagon in 1972 to oppose the Vietnam War.
He married a fellow protester and now a law professor at Northwestern, Bernadine Dohnrn.
During the 2008 US presidential campaign, a controversy arose over his contacts with candidate Barack Obama, with much of the right-wing claiming that he was a terrorist.
