Benjamin Peirce
Mathematician
Famous American mathematician who taught at Harvard for 50 years. He was also the director of the U.S. Coast Survey from 1867 to 1874.
He was devoutly Christian and cited the order of mathematics as a reason for God's existence.
He played an important part in the development of Harvard's science curriculum and served as the college librarian.
He married Sarah Hunt Mills in 1833 and had had four sons and one daughter with her.
He is a renowned mathematician much like Blaise Pascal.
