Barbara Cochran
Skier
Alpine ski racer who won a gold medal in the slalom at the 1972 Olympics in Sapporo.
She grew up in a skiing family, and learned to ski in her backyard at a young age.
In 1976 she was inducted into the National Ski Hall of Fame.
All three of her siblings are national champion skiers.
She was one of the few medalists for America at the 1972 Winter Olympics, along with hockey player Mark Howe.
