Alternative rock outfit that is best recognized for their song "California," the theme song of the Fox teen drama series The O.C. They released albums titled Phantom Planet Is Missing (1998), The Guest (2002), Phantom Planet (2004) and Raise the Dead (2008).

Trivia

Actor Jason Schwartzman was a drummer for the group until 2003. The group as a whole was active from 1994 to 2008, and reunited in 2012 for one year. They returned once again in 2019.
