His family was a host family for the first season of CMT's reality series World's Strictest Parents.
His parents Terry and Roxanne Forsyth owned a Christian camp called Fort Rock Christian Family Camp and Retreat Center. In February 2018, he and Joy welcomed a son named Gideon. They lost their second child together midway through their pregnancy. On August 21, 2020, they welcomed a daughter.
His father-in-law and mother-in-law became Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar.
