He played high school football at Hialeah-Miami Lakes High School in Florida.
He racked up 4,337 all-purpose yards at Notre Dame, which at the time placed him fifth all-time in school history.
He grew up with his family in Opa Locka, Florida.
He made his NFL debut when running back Matt Forte went down with an injury in 2012.
