Internationally known 19th-century English pianist and one of the first recipients of the Gold Medal of the Royal Philharmonic Society.
She formally debuted on April 14, 1853, as part of the first performance in England of Beethoven's Hammerklavier Sonata.
She was able to play her recitals from memory, one of the first pianists to do so.
Her father, Thomas Goddard, inherited a Salisbury cutlery firm.
She played for many their musicians and political figures, including Queen Victoria .
