Antero Manninen
Cellist
Known best for his session work with the symphonic metal group Apocalyptica, this Finnish cellist also performed with the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra; the Finnish National Opera Orchestra; and the Lahti Symphony Orchestra.
He started playing the cello when he was just seven years old. At the age of twenty, he began his involvement with Apocalyptica.
His instrument of choice was a 1946 Giuseppe Pedrazzini cello.
He was born and raised in the southern Finnish city of Tampere.
He and Eicca Toppinen were both cellists with Apocalyptica.
