She graduated from Northwestern University with a degree in communication. Afterward, she moved to Los Angeles and worked a variety of jobs including screenwriter's assistant, diving coach, and private jet flight attendant.

She and Alfonso have two sons, AJ and Anders. Their daughter Ava was born in 2019. She also has one stepdaughter, Sienna, from Alfonso's first marriage.
