Former MLB player most their for his days with the New York Yankees, with whom he played from 2004 to 2007. He later became a baseball coach for the University of Alabama Crimson Tide.
He was drafted by the Yankees in 1999 but was not called up the majors until 2004. In his first-ever professional at bat, he hit a home run, becoming the seventh Yankee to do so.
He was named MVP of the 2004 International League All-Star Game after hitting a tenth-inning walk-off home run.
He married Bethany Barr Phillips in 2004.
He and Bubba Crosby both homered in their first at bats with the New York Yankees.
