He grew up playing hockey in Hamilton, which is in Ontario, Canada.
In 1974, he set a record for most penalty minutes for an NHL goalie, which has sense been surpassed.
He father Adam was an NHL left winger for the Detroit Red Wings, Chicago Black Hawks, and Boston Bruins.
His helmet-less play kept alive the tradition began by legendary goaltenders such as Hall of Famer Terry Sawchuk.
