Below-knee amputee who is an extremely accomplished marathon and ultra marathon runner, and has set countless world records.
She was in a motorcycle accident in 1994, and ultimately had to have her left leg amputated.
In 2010 she won an ESPY for top female athlete with a disability, as well as the James E. Sullivan Award for the nation's top amateur athlete.
She was born in Meadville, Pennsylvania.
She won the James E. Sullivan Award one year after Shawn Johnson.
