Shooting guard known for his tenacious defense and numerous off-the-court troubles; 4-time NBA All-Star and 2-time NBA All-Defensive First Team selection.
He was drafted seventh overall by the San Antonio Spurs after playing collegiately at the University of Arkansas.
He led the NBA in steals three times and won the 1986 Defensive Player of the Year award.
His wife had him arrested in 1990 for beating her. He spent a month in jail during the NBA season.
He was a four-time All-Star for the San Antonio Spurs before legendary power forward Tim Duncan came along and represented the Spurs in just about every All-Star game over the course of his long career.
