She worked as a paralegal for four years.
She was the recipient of the Women's Health Advocacy Award in March 2013 for her work educating the public about breast cancer.
Her mother passed away from breast cancer, spurring her to support preventative care.
She was interviewed by Katie Couric in 2012 about her decision to have a double mastectomy.
