She graduated from La Jolla Country Day School in 1999; two weeks after the ceremony, she debuted professionally at Wimbledon.
After her incredible debut at Wimbledon, she received many honors, including being named Rookie of the Year by Tennis Magazine.
Her mother Samantha Stevenson was a respected sports journalist; her father was Julius Erving, the basketball legend.
She didn't have to go Nike, Inc. to complete her three-year deal after her dramatic Wimbledon debut; co-founder and chairman Phil Knight flew directly to London to sign her.
