Composer who was extremely influential on Slovak music in the early 20th century.
He attended Franz Liszt Academy of Music from 1904 to 1908. He was mentored by the famed Hans Koessler and István Thomán.
He served as organist at St. Martin's Cathedral beginning in 1908.
He married linguist Margaréta Fischerová in 1918.
He and Bela Bartok were close friends.
