Alex Ross
Cartoonist
Comic book artist and writer known for his work with DC Comics and Marvel Comics. His notable works include the Kingdom Come comic book miniseries and the Universe X, Paradise X, and Earth X series.
He studied at Chicago's American Academy of Art, where he was inspired by the work of Salvador Dalí and J. C. Leyendecker. He published his first comic book, Terminator: The Burning Earth, in the 1990s.
He was a 1997 recipient of the prestigious Will Eisner Award.
The son of a minister and an artist, he was born in Oregon and raised in Texas.
He collaborated with fellow artist Kurt Busiek on a comic book series called Marvels.
