Late gospel singer who recorded more than sixty albums during her illustrious career, including Gold-selling releases like Please Be Patient With Me. In addition to her solo career, she was a member of popular the gospel groups The Caravans and Sisters of Glory.
She sang in the West Point Baptist Church choir before getting her start with gospel groups like The Pete Williams Singers.
She was nominated for ten Grammys, winning the Best Traditional Gospel Album Grammy for Songs of the Church.
She was one of five children born to Ruben and Camille Walker.
She sang alongside Phoebe Snow as a member of Sisters of Glory.
