Football Hall of Fame tackle who played for the Minnesota Vikings and Chicago Bears. He became an Associate Justice with the Minnesota Supreme Court.
He worked to build the same football Hall of Fame into which he would later be inducted.
He earned a J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School while still playing professional football.
He had four children with Diana Sims.
He received the NCAA Theodore Roosevelt Award in 2004, which was given to individuals who led distinguished lives. Sally Ride received it in 2005.
