Award-winning Filipino actor who became known for his roles in dramatic films such as Dubai and In the Name of Love. He also received a Gawad Urian Best Actor Award for his performance in the 1996 film, Sana Maulit Muli.
He intended to study commerce, but left college to pursue his acting career.
In addition to film and television, he also endorsed the popular fast food chain, Jollibee.
In 2001, he married Charlene Gonzales, a former Miss Universe contestant. The couple had three children together, Andres, Atasha, and Iggy.
He starred in the award-winning film, Dubai, alongside Claudine Barretto.
