Adeline Genee

Former ballet dancer, she was most recognized for being the principal dancer for the Royal Danish Ballet.
She began taking dancing lessons when she was just three years old.
To commemorate her, the Association (now the Royal Academy of Dance) created the Adeline Genée Gold Medal Awards as a scholarship to aid young dancers become successful.
She was born in Denmark. She was adopted by her uncle Alexandre and aunt Antonia when she was eight.
She and Karen Kain were both their ballerinas.
