He began his acting career working in the Bengali TV industry. He made his Bengali film debut in a lead role in 2009's Cross Connection.
He emerged as a leading man with the release of the 2014 film Hrid Majharey. He was subsequently named one of the Calcutta Times' 100 Most Desirable Men.
His parents, Phalguni and Rumki Chatterjee, are both known for their prolific theater careers in India.
